Description
The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to repair the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Motor-Generator (M-G) components listed below: NOUN:Motor-Generator (M-G) NSN:6125-01-559-3101AH P/N:25-45610-74 BEQ: 8 per year NOUN:Motor-Generator (M-G) NSN:6125-01-559-4129AH P/N: 1005601-3 BEQ: 2 per year This requirement is for repair services. Our repair services strategy is a three-year contract (basic plus one option year) and will continue through FY25.The projected quantities will be Best Estimated Quantities (BEQ) listed above. The Governments needs for repair services are required in order to support current ICBM units in the field. The Motor-Generator (M-G) PN: 25-45610-74: The M-G provides uninterrupted power to the Launch Facility (LF) Operational Ground Equipment (OGE). The complete M-G consists of an AC induction motor, a DC motor, a 400-Hz AC generator, control assembly, and a bedplate. The Motor-Generator (M-G) PN: 1005601-3: The M-G provides uninterrupted power to the Launch Control Center (LCC) Operational Ground Equipment (OGE). The complete M-G consists of two control enclosures, a motor assembly and a generator assembly. The motor and generator assemblies are connected by a coupler. The main function of the M-G: When AC and DC input power of proper voltage and frequency is applied to the M-G in the proper sequence, the underfrequency monitor and the undervoltage monitor operate, closing a circuit to the coils of the main contactor. The contactor then closes a circuit to apply AC input power to AC motor, starting the motor, which in turn drives the AC generator. At the same time, the contactor closes a circuit applying DC voltage to the solenoids that lift the brushes off the DC motor commutator. In the event of AC input failure, the underfrequency monitor or undervoltage monitor activate and in turn cause the main contactor to trip, disconnecting AC motor. Contacts in the main contactor open the DC circuit, de-energizing the solenoid coils and allowing the spring-loaded brushes to contact the commutator of DC motor. This action transfers power to the DC motor and prevents degradation and/or interruption of the 400-Hz output power. The underfrequency monitor and undervoltage monitor detect underfrequency and undervoltage conditions in the AC input, respectively. Either of these conditions will cause the associated relay to trip, initiating the action noted above. Please see the attached documents for additional information and the Contractor Capability Survey. Note: This posting was updated on 18 March 2021. It changed the previous due date from Saturday, 10 April 2021, to Monday, 12 April 2021. This revision also added a Q&A document.
