THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT CONDUCTED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAR PART 10. RESPONSES�TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION PLANNING DECISIONS. A SUBSEQUENT SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY FOLLOW. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO ANY FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT. The 628th Contracting Squadron is seeking sources for a requirement to provide education and training to U.S. Military prisoners at the Naval Consolidated Brig, a Naval Level II adult correctional facility, located at Joint Base Charleston � Naval Weapons Station, SC. The requirement is to provide education and training in commercial trades such as general carpentry, industrial sewing, embroidery, upholstery, fork lift operation, CAT operation, and life skills to adjudged and pretrial prisoners. The goal of this requirement is to retrain and restore personnel to honorable military status, prepare separating personnel for return to civilian life as productive citizens or to enemy combatants in accordance with directives from the President of the United States via the Secretary of Defense. The scope of this requirement requires the contractor to manage the total work effort associated with these services to include planning and scheduling lesson topics and training programs; documenting required training records; collecting and reporting education, training and experience data for reporting of the appropriate apprenticeship or certification programs; assisting prisoners in completing certification training and obtaining trade certifications; assisting customers with developing, budgeting, and completion of work orders; managing training resources and production methods; providing resume writing instruction, employment research training, employment interviewing skills and techniques instruction; monitoring prisoner education and training sequences and assignments; and maintaining prisoner accountability. Additionally include: As many as three customer references to which you have provided similar services, and your company size pursuant to the following questions: (1) Is your business small or large?, (2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small disadvantaged business?, (3) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and if your firm is certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act, (4) Is your firm a certified HUBZone firm?, (5) Is your firm a women-owned or operated small business and/or economically disadvantaged women-owned small business�?, (6) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business or Veteran-Owned Small Business? THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR ""SOURCES SOUGHT"" SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL�OR REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. INFORMATION IS TO BE PROVIDED ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS.
