Title of Project: Radiation Detecting Equipment 2. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliverables described in this statement of work (SOW), except as may otherwise be specified. Radiation Safety needs these radiation detecting items to replace old units that are beyond repair. Contractor will deliver radiation detecting equipment. Contractor will provide training set up and install if require the for the radiation detecting equipment in the Radiation Safety Service at CTX VA Temple, Building 55 Room 111. 3. Background: This is replacement equipment for the Radiation Safety Service. This radiation detecting equipment will allow the facility to continue to use radiopharmaceuticals for direct patient care, identify removable contamination, and identify the type of radioactivity. Replacing radiation equipment is that are beyond repair for new technology. 4. Performance Period: The contractor shall complete the work required under this SOW in 14 calendar days or less from date of award, unless otherwise directed by the Contracting Officer (CO). If the contractor proposes an earlier completion date, and the Government accepts the contractor s proposal, the contractor s proposed completion date shall prevail. Work at the Government site shall not take place on Federal holidays or weekends unless directed by the CO. 5. Government POC: The contractor will contact the Government POC Ms. Elizabeth Garces prior to shipping the Radiation Detecting Equipment in order to set up an installation time. 6. Salient Characteristics for Radiation Detecting Equipment: Spectroscopic Personal Radiation Detector SPECIFICATIONS Technology Spectroscopic personal radiation detector (SPRD) Detector: Cesium Iodide with Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) Radiation Detection Capability: Gamma and Neutron Energy Range (Gamma): Minimum 30 keV - 3 MeV Gamma Spectrum Capability: Minimum 1024 channels; 3 MeV Gamma Sensitivity: Minimum 3 cps/urem/h Neutron Sensitivity: Minimum 3 cps/nv Dose Rate / Accuracy: Minimum 100 nSv/h 250 Sv/h ( 10 Rem/h 25 mRem/h); ±20% Detection and identification ability: Direct read gamma and neutron radiation detection Drop resistant to MIL STD 810G and 1.5M drop criteria required by ANSI N42.32 IP67 rating to protect against dust and immersion in water up to 1M depth. Physical Features Dose Rate Mode Radioisotope identification Neutron Detection Bluetooth wireless technology for recording and sending real-time dose rates and geotag information. Handheld radionuclide Identification device (RID) Handheld radiation detection multichannel analyzer with nuclide identification, spectrum analysis, dose rate calculation, total dose display and source finding. Detector Abilities: Sensitivity: greater than 10,0000 cps/mrem Dose-rate range: 1 urem/hr to 100 rem/hr Energy Range: Solid state 15 to keV to 3.0 MeV Separate neutron Alarm 360-degree coverage to locate and measure radioactive and Identifying and measuring radioactive sources Source less stabilization Internal battery min requirements 10 hrs. and hot swappable and user-replaceable Startup time minimum requirements: 20 seconds from cold start solid-state detector that is fully enclosed IP67-rated.
