This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b). This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Market research has determined that these items are highly specialized, are only available from a single source without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost and no other type of items will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract with an effective date of 26 March 2021 to Codonics, 17991 Englewood Dr., Middle Heights, OH 44130 DUNS: 10-153-3727 The Salisbury VA Medical Center, 1601 Brenner Ave., Salisbury, NC 28144, Anesthesia Department requires the Codonics Safe Label System to provide safe labeling that complies with the Joint Commission Standards for Medical Labeling, ASTM 4774, ISO 26825, and ASA guidelines. This labeling system will provide a standard of care for the patients at the Salisbury VAMC by using barcode technology to read vial and ampoules at the point of care. The Codonics System is the only point of care station compatible with the Omnicell Anesthesia Workstation that is currently in use at the Salisbury VAMC and throughout VISN 6. When used in conjunction with the Omnicell Workstation, the system provides visual and audible identification of the drug while producing a label that includes a barcode to enable integration with the electronic health record.
