Solicitation #: � 21-006649 Closing Date: March 30, 2021 at 1:00 EST Date Posted: March 22,2021 This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.� The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC) Department of Surgical (, has a requirement to secure funds to support Stimulator scientific Supplies. � The TSA system uses QST as a valuable method for diagnosing peripheral nervous system, including chronic pain. It measures the sensation and pain thresholds for cold and warm temperatures and vibration sensation threshold on the skin. When specific receptors are activated, the nerve fibers send the message to the central nervous system and the stimulus is felt. The integrated system (hardware and software) can be customized to each specific medical or research needs as a non-invasive, pain free assessment that could help in early detection, therapy selection and monitoring the progression and recovery of patients with peripheral sensory disorders. The NIH, CC intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Medoc Scientific supplies on a sole source basis only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date on March 30, 2021 at 1:00 est specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Priscilla Abalos, Contract Specialist, priscilla.abalos@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in
