QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO SOLICITATION 36C25021Q0455 Who is the current incumbent contractor? Answer: Currently, Culpepper & Associates Security is providing security services to these locations Please confirm the facility contracted elevator service provider (Elevator Contractor) is responsible for providing the manpower and equipment to perform the required testing of the elevators. Answer: Yes.  The elevator contractor is responsible for providing the manpower and equipment to perform all testing.  This service contract is for semi-annual inspection purposes with 30-day follow-ups.  It also covers the onsite verification during the 5-year load test that is performed by the elevator contractor.  The Requirements statement lists the unit count as 18 traction/12 hydraulics; however, the SOW gives the unit count as 17 traction/13 hydraulic. Please clarify the unit type and count. Answer: 5-year full load test will only be done on Traction Elevators 5. Is the Elevator Service Contractor required to be onsite with the inspector during the Periodic (routine/semiannual) inspection? Answer: The independent elevator will perform the routine/semiannual inspection without the elevator contractor present. This is done independently and inspector will generate a punch list report and provide copies to VA and Elevator contractor for action items Can you please confirm what year and how many units require the 5-year test (full load test)? This information will help supply an accurate quote. Answer: There are a total of 30 Units. Below is each elevator unit to be covered under the Elevator inspection contract. Answer: This will require a qualified Elevator inspector to oversee and certify the Elevator Load Test that is performed by the elevator contractor.  The current Elevator contractor is Otis Elevator. Answer: The Elevator contractor will be performing the PM s and Call backs Please clarify parts/components that are expected to be covered Answer: All elevator parts and mechanical spaces.  This includes, Cars, hoistways, cables, jibs, safeties.  This is a semi-annual inspection of the cars and their maintenance. Please clarify which elevators are considered single use elevators and the work would need to be performed on OT.  The OT requirement is for maintenance only (ie. 5-year load test). This contract is for inspection purposes. Answer: As of right now, no extension has been considered. Quotes are due by 3-26-2021 by 3 pm est. by email The Pricing Schedule does NOT include the requirements for the Category 5 (5 year) inspections/Tests however; they are addressed in the SOW. Can you provide the last known test dates for the Category 5 inspections?  (Original submission for clarification) Answer: The 5-year full load test was completed in 2020.  They will be required again in 2025 Are the last known dates of the Category 5 (Full Load) test/ inspections available, if so, please provide in order to submit an accurate pricing proposal. Answer: The 5-year full load test was completed in 2020.  They will be required again in 2025 If not, please provide the Option Year, in which the 5 Year Test and inspections are required/due, in order to submit an accurate pricing proposal.
