- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, Volcano Science Center in Vancouver, Washington has a requirement for Infrasound Sensors, quantity 76. The Technical Specifications are attached below. The Request for Quotation (RFQ), number 140G0321Q0056, will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 5.102(a)(1), on or about March 30, 2021. The Government anticipates award of a Firm-Fixed Price type contract. Please contact the Contracting Officer, in writing, by email at cciccarelli@usgs.gov, with any questions. This notice and any resulting solicitation or contract conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2021-05, effective 10 March 2021. This requirement is unrestricted, meaning not set aside for small businesses. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing and the size standard is 1,000 employees. The Product Service Code is 5820 Communication, detection & coherent radiation equipment. Technical Specifications for Narrow Full-Scale Range Acoustic Monitor The USGS Volcano Hazards Program requests an infrasound acoustic monitor with the following characteristics. The quantities desired by the Volcano Hazards Program may be difficult to supply within the typical 90 day award period. Requester will accept a partial delivery schedule if necessary or will accept an extended award period. Signal Characteristics: Individual sensor calibration must be within +-5% of nominal values reported by manufacturer. Nominal calibration value must be traceable to nationally accredited external laboratory calibration chamber to meet industry specifications. Selected unit must be in current production and have established, proven and acceptable performance history. This request is directed at an existing product, not at product design and development. Nominal Sensitivity: 9mV/Pa@1Hz or greater Full Scale Range: 720Pa peak to peak full scale input range or greater Output type: Differential. Single ended not acceptable. Maximum output: 22V peak-to-peak, 11V maximum signal to ground Idle output: +5.5V with respect to ground, or must have known specification for idle output. Frequency response: Flat to within =-3dB from .03Hz to 245Hz or wider band Band limited Self Noise: .39mPa RMS@.5 to 2Hz, 1.8mPa RMS@.1 to 200Hz or less noise. Self Noise Pa^2/Hz@1Hz: -70dB or less Dynamic Range: 102dB or greater Power requirements: Short Circuit Protection: Protected against momentary shorts from signal+ to signal- and signal to ground DC supply range: 11.25V to 20V or wider DC current consumption: 150mW or less Physical Characteristics: 4 inch diameter or smaller. 3.5 inch tall or shorter Must include 3 or more acoustic entry points for signal averaging over multiple azimuths. Operating temperature: -40C to +65C Housing must be of corrosion resistant material(s)
