Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. This is not a request for offers or proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The Government does not intend to pay for information solicited. Project Title: Install X-Ray for ED Project Number: 561-18-102 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), NCO 2 James J. Peters, VA Medical Center, Bronx is seeking highly qualified construction firms to: Provide turnkey (Design Build-DB) services to include all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to design and construct the site preparation needed to install a new GE Healthcare, Optima XR646 HD system at the VA East Orange Campus. All work shall be performed in accordance with manufacturer s equipment drawings & specifications, VA requirement and specifications, and VA Specification 00 11 21 (Request for Proposal to Design Build). Work is in building 1, rooms 1-291 and 1-289. All work shall be performed at the VA NJ Health Care System, East Orange, New Jersey 07018. Work shall comply with the applicable specifications and dimensions in the Manufacturer Preliminary Drawings and the applicable requirements set forth in Manufacturer equipment GE Healthcare, Optima XR646 HD system. Work-Related Services 1. Retain a set of Manufacturer's site-specific equipment installation drawings at the Site, and redline those drawings to indicate any deviations made from the requirements indicated in those drawings during the production of the Work. 2. Furnish miscellaneous shop drawings if and to the extent necessary for production of the Work. 3. Furnish an electronic copy of the record drawings showing material changes in the Work made during construction based on markup drawings and other Work changes made by the Work contractors during their performance of the Work. 4. The design for the Work will incorporate applicable building codes, rules, and regulations enacted by the state where the Site is located. General Requirements of Construction: 1. Provide professional full time on-site supervision of the work. 2. Hold bi-weekly construction meetings and prepare meeting minutes. 3. Prepare and maintain a construction schedule for the work. 4. Coordinate power and other utility shutdowns with facility representative. 5. Coordinate materials delivery and storage with facility representative. 6. Remove rubbish and debris as it accumulates. 7. All debris/trash must be removed from the construction site daily. 8. Provide required temporary facilities, including but not limited to: A. Temporary barriers/structures to secure work areas for safety purposes noise reduction and dust containment. B. Temporarily seal supply/return air diffusers to minimize contamination of ductwork and surrounding areas. C. Temporary lighting above ceiling during construction. D. Foot mats at work area entrances and exits. E. Infection Disease Control. F. Abide by facility rules and regulations in effect at the site G. Provide current insurance certificates H. Remove and legally dispose of debris. 9. Contractor shall be required to provide the following documentation for all of his/her personnel working on VA property: A. Background investigation Worksheet (Attachment No. 2 under SOP Acquisition) B. VA Form 0711 C. Security and Privacy Training certification D. OSHA certification E. TB tuberculin test certification Completion time: 120 Calendar Days Construction documents production (drawings and specifications) by Professional Engineer to be approved by VA. The estimated Construction Cost Range for this effort is the range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. This solicitation is issued under the Small Business competitiveness demonstration program. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220 with a small business size standard of $39.5 Million and MUST have knowledgeable experience. The firm will be responsible for providing all management, supervision, labor, materials, supplies and equipment, and shall plan, schedule, and coordinate as per requirements of all governing agencies. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. Additional information, including the solicitation will be published on the Federal Business Opportunities website FedBizOpps.gov. Responses to this Source Sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to any future solicitation announcements. Responses to this Source Sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of future solicitations.
