- Sources Sought Notice Handheld Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectrometer � This announcement should not be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Request For Information (RFI). THIS IS NOT A RFP AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE U.S. GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A RFP.� This RFI release is for U.S. Government planning purposes only and constitute requests for exchange of information pursuant to FAR 15.201. � Request for Information (RFI) To facilitate elemental analysis of metals and alloys the Government (Combat Capabilities Development Command � Armaments Center) requires a complete handheld Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectrometer (LIBS).� A field portable system is required for analysis alloys of steel, nickel, aluminum, lead, and other elements, and capable of identifying impurities in metals and metal alloys.� This system will be used to support a range of programs from production analysis to basic and applied research. The system must meet the following criteria: � REQUIREMENTS: 1064 nm Class 3b laser source Standard calibrations for Iron, Aluminum, Titanium, stainless steel, low alloy steel, Cobalt, Nickel, and Copper alloys. Analysis of metal samples measuring: Carbon (C), Aluminum (Al), Silicon (Si), Titanium (Ti), Vanadium (V), Chromium (Cr), Manganese (Mn), Iron (Fe), Cobalt (Co), Nickel (Ni), Copper (Cu), Niobium (Nb), Molybdenum (Mo), and Tungsten (W). Capability for the user to build custom calibrations and add calibration standards. Directly accessible raw emission data for subsequent analysis and interpretation. Handheld LIBS system may be refurbished or pre-owned (with warranty). Request your company provide responses to the following questionnaire: 1. Does your company have a system available that can meet the above requirements?� If yes, please provide description of your system. Please specifically highlight any individual technical requirement that creates a significant challenge for your company to meet. 2. Can your company define and provide details and pricing for all parts, and supply unit pricing? Please include any maintenance �or warranty the company offers. 3. Are the systems currently in stock and available for immediate delivery? 4. If your system is not currently in stock, when would the systems be available for delivery? 5. What is your commercial price for the above system?� Any pricing data should be sent, if available, and at no cost to the U.S. Government. ROM data is acceptable. Also please provide the following company information: Company Name. Company Address. Company point of contact, phone number and email address. Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. Identify if the business is considered a small or large business, based on the NAICS Code.
