Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the Design-Bid-Build Inpatient Medicine Bed Addition (Minor) Construction project at the Kansas City VA Medical Center (VAMC) located at 4801 Linwood Blvd Kansas City, MO 64128. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Project involves the construction of two additions at the third-floor level. One addition on the south side of the main hallway over the new MRI unit, and a second smaller addition on the north side. The remainder of the 3rd floor west wing shall be renovated. These three areas combine to form a continuous inpatient private bedroom acute medicine unit. A vertical circulation addition with 2 elevators shall also be built with this project from floors B-8 for patient transport. Also included is an enclosed and conditioned walkway on ground level between the parking garage and the main front entry with a side connection to building 15. Construction will be performed in phases as described on drawings and in specifications. Work includes, but not limited to, Architectural, Site, Structural, Fire Protection, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Earthwork, Exterior Utilities, and other aspects of construction as required by the contract drawings and specifications. The work also involves, but not limited to, demolition of existing architectural, site, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical and electrical work. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Invitation for Bid (IFB) conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5 million. The solicitation will be issued in mid to late-April of 2021. The period of performance is approximately 540 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, the magnitude of construction is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. This notice is not a request for competitive offers.
