- This Special Announcement is being issued on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers� (USACE) Headquarters, Virtual Innovation Summit 2021, to be held on October 25-29, 2021. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers delivers vital engineering solutions, in collaboration with our partners, to secure our Nation, energize our economy, and reduce risk from disasters. As one of the most diverse engineering organizations in the world, USACE mission areas include Military Programs, Civil Works Water Resources, Geospatial Support, Contingency Operations, Research & Development, and Interagency and International Services. USACE has approximately 37,000 dedicated civilians and soldiers delivering engineering services to customers in more than 130 countries worldwide, with an annual budget in the tens of billions of dollars. The USACE Innovation Summit 2021 is a high-profile networking event with national level visibility that will attract industry, government, and academic participants, featuring virtual presentations, tours, and exhibits/booths. This event has the potential for collaboration and partnership to help solve some of the Corps� toughest challenges through innovation. This Summit is being held to continue our efforts from the first Summit in order to promote and share technical ideas, practices, methods, and materiel solutions that advance USACE's ability to Revolutionize the Corps by delivering its programs faster, better and cheaper. The theme for this virtual event is �Innovation to Impact: Leading from the Future� and will bring together everyone in the USACE community who is interested in working together to Revolutionize the Corps. By coming together in this forum, we hope to unleash the power of innovation and work toward building a culture that is willing to take a chance with innovative ideas. Topic areas will include Military Programs, Civil Works Water Resources, Geospatial Support, Contingency Operations, Research & Development, and Interagency and International Services. We are also very excited to add a new area, based on your feedback from the last summit � Workforce of the Future. The summit will spotlight innovation across the Corps of Engineers in the Chief�s key priority areas: People � an inspirational future workforce that increases diversity and hires the best Readiness � deliver the program to our customers and stakeholders on time, on budget and of exceptional quality Partnerships - Connect and build relationships to improve and modernize the Corps Revolutionize � through risk-informed decision making, better use of research and development, and employing the USACE Technology Innovation Strategy Join us, the virtual Summit will kick off Monday, 25 October, at 1200 noon EST and will continue through Friday, 29 October filled with Keynote speakers, panel discussions, presentations, posters sessions and virtual tours. The Summit is open to all USACE team members, Department of Defense and other government agencies, current and future partners in industry and academia.
