Description

NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Engineering Organization has a requirement for an Upgraded Control System for a Moore M-40 Diamond Turning Lathe. This procurement will be comprised of materials and labor to implement repairs to bring the Moore M-40 Lathe to operational status. A complement of highly customized parts and expertise is required to complete the repairs. NASA/MSFC intends to issue a sole source purchase order to acquire the materials and expertise to repair the Moore M-40 Diamond Turning Lathe from Jurjen Control Systems, Inc.� Description of Services attached for reference. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact (charles.w.farrior@nasa.gov) no later than 04/13/2021 by 4:00 P.M. CST. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
