- Description
- El Yunque National Forest is requesting rental Climate Controlled Portable Storage units. The objective of this project is to have air-conditioned portable storages at El Yunque NF El Portal Visitors� Center parking lot area. The El Portal Operation office is in the U.S. Forest Service, Southern Region, El Yunque National Forest in Rio Grande, Road 191 at el Portal Visitor center parking area on Rio Grande, P. R. 00721. El Yunque National Forest is still under hurricane recovery efforts after being struck by hurricanes Irma and Maria. El Yunque is home to many plant and species, some unique in Puerto Rico. Also, it is visited my many visitors from countries all over the world. Now Forest is closed due to COVID-19 but it is planned to open again soon as safely permitted. Our headquarters office well known as �Catalina� has been closed until repairs are completed. Due to this situation, many Teams lost access to warehouse space for their respective items/equipment, which some of them are of sensitive nature. Also, we have a Heritage Program that possess many antiques/relics which due to their nature, it is essential to be preserved in a climate-controlled environment. Therefore, the need of climate controlled portable storages is paramount to preserve many important items from being damaged by heat and mold. � Tasks/Specifications Seven (7) - 8x16 Climate Controlled Portable Storages One (1) - 1- 8x8 Climate-Controlled Storage To deliver and place containers at El Portal Visitors� Center Parking lot area and to ensure electric plugs are suited to withstand Forest�s rainy, hot and humid environment.� Assumptions/Constraints: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, (etc�) to effectuate the completion of this project.� The contractor shall visit the site for verification of existing conditions and work to be performed prior to submitting a bid. Contractor shall meet with the Government [e.g., Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Program Project Manager, Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Designated Safety Representative (DSR), etc.] to ascertain a clear understanding of the project scope; existing conditions; accessibility requirements, and scheduling concerns.� Tasks that are unclear shall be confirmed with the Contracting Specialist (CS) prior to incurring costs.� Contractor will follow all safety/distancing requirements and regulations as recommended by CDC, OSHA, etc. The Contractor is responsible for all damages that occur during the performance of work and will be at cost to the contractor. Coordinate with USFS personnel to receive completed project and specification.
