Description
This is a sources sought notice for information and planning purposes and shall not be construed as an obligation on the part of the VA. The purpose of this sources sought is to identify qualified businesses, including Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Small Business, 8a Small Business and Small Business concerns that are interested in and are capable of performing the work described herein. Your responses to the sources sought will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 21 will be issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) to award a contract to remove existing Meal Tray Systems and install new Meal Tray Systems for the following locations: -VA Palo Alto Health Care System, 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304 -VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Menlo Park Division, 795 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025 -VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Livermore Division, 4951 Arroyo Road, Livermore, CA 94550 The contractor shall provide all supervision, administrative and technical support, labor, subcontractors, tools, transportation, materials, supplies and equipment. The contractor shall plan, schedule, and ensure effective completion of the removal of the existing Unified Brands A La Cart Meal Tray System and the installation of new Meal Tray Systems on three campuses. The contractor shall furnish and install (27) meal tray docking stations and (54) transport tray carts for each docking station. The contractor shall seismically secure all docking stations as needed in each location. The contractor shall provide journeyman level Electricians and Plumbers as needed to make all connections to new docking stations utilizing the most current code requirements for installation. The contractor shall connect to existing Electrical wiring which will require a NEMA L21-30A plug to match the existing receptacles along with a 5 #10 (3H,1N,1G) cord rated for 90 DEG.C. Domestic Cold Water shall be connected as needed for the installation. The contractor shall commission and verify operation of all meal tray system components prior to completion of this requirement. Chiller/Retherm Unit Locations and Quantity: Salient Characteristics: The new retherm system should be compatible or with minimal impact with the utility infrastructure and use of docking space. Docking stations shall be both USB Port and Ethernet Port capable. Chilled water or compressors are not applicable. New power outlets and ventilation upgrades are not permissible. The new units need to have NEMA L21-30A plug to match the existing receptacles. The new units should have this type of cord: 5 #10 (3H,1N,1G) rated for 90 deg C. Data addition is not required. Height 52.0 to 85.0 Width 30.0 to 39.0 Depth of Wall - 32.0 to 36.0 Weight No more than 500lbs Industry Standard Wall retherm unit Self-Contained Air Cooled or Cold Water Remote access - USB Port and Ethernet Port capable Convection cooking and cooling Boost cycle SAE Standard parts Transport Carts 24 trays capacity No electronic parts Ability to pressure wash carts Small wares Ability to purchase all small wares through Prime Vendor Contract (US Foods) All wares should be non-proprietary Overall The product must meet all applicable government codes and standards and have fair equitable pricing. Product must be USA Made, Meeting the requirements of Executive Order 13858, VA PPM 2017-12 Buy American Act (BAA), and Executive Order 13788 Buy American and Hire American Act Product should have 24-hour local customer service List of required replacement parts and surplus should be provided for maintenance use Require 5-year warranty The government intends to award one firm fixed price contract. The NAICS code is 333318 and the corresponding size standard is 1,000 employees.
