Description
Agency/Office: Army Contracting Command Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) Title: Special Notice GVS OTA, W15QKN-17-9-1025 Task Request 20, Medium and Heavy Combat Vehicle Technology Prototyping Description: The Government intends to issue Task Request 20 for the Medium and Heavy Combat Vehicle Technology Prototyping under the Ground Vehicle Systems (GVS) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA), W15QKN-17-9-1025 to National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC). The GVS OTA was entered into between the Army Contracting Command (ACC) and the NAMC on 26 September 2017, in support of Ground Vehicle System related Research and Development prototype projects. The Government will utilize the GVS OTA to award this effort. The intent of Task Request 20 is to address Government concerns regarding the weight and power of the Armys medium and heavy combat vehicles. A phased approach will be implemented as follows: Phase one (1) will focus on a paper study to determine the feasibility of any proposed solutions. The paper study is meant to provide the Government greater detail regarding proposed technologies, benefits, potential interactions with software\hardware systems, and to provide cost and schedule information. Phase two (2) will focus on the development, design, modeling and simulation, and physics-based performance analysis of virtual prototype(s). Phase three (3) will focus on the building of physical hardware derived from the virtual prototype(s), including supervised Systems Integration Labs and Hardware Integration Labs testing. Phase four (4) will focus on the integration of the proposed hardware onto the vehicle platform(s), including a vendor performed demonstration and further testing to understand the technology. The anticipated period of performance for this effort is 36 months after award. The Government does not intend to pursue a Follow-on Production effort under the authority of 10 USC 2371b(f) for this effort. NOTE: This Special Notice is for informational purposes only. A prototype project will not be awarded in response to this announcement. The purpose of this announcement is to provide industry advanced notification of the Governments intent to release a Task Request to the NAMC membership. For information on the NAMC and/or how to become a member, visit the following website: www.NAMConsortium.org.
