- Description
- The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks to employ a Senior Global Health Security Agenda Team Lead (Senior GHSA Team Lead) who will have primary responsibility for ensuring well-coordinated and effective delivery of technical and programmatic support across the USAID missions Global Health Security Agenda portfolio in Cte dIvoire (CI) to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats. The Senior GHSA Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing a multi-sectoral, complex portfolio, providing leadership and technical support to the full range of GHSA investments as they relate to the development context of Cte dIvoire. The Senior GHSA Team Lead will serve as a high-level technical advisor to the Health Office Director in Cte dIvoire. The Senior GHSA Team Lead will also be responsible for working closely with the USAID/GHSA Washington Team for guidance and to ensure that GHSA program activities are well coordinated with the Government of Cte dIvoire, the USG GHSA Interagency programs, and other donor GHSA-related health investments. The Senior GHSA Team Lead will serve as a senior member of the USAID/ Cte dIvoire Health Team and will also liaise with the AORs and CORs of applicable bilateral and global projects to ensure coordination of GHSA activities and mandated reporting. Placement of the Senior GHSA Team Lead in Cote dIvoire will fill a critical role for USAID to meet the expectations of the White House and Congress to support GOCI to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats. At the same time, the USG GHSA Interagency (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Defense (DOD)) will be programming significant amounts of their own funds for GHSA activities in Cte dIvoire necessitating effective USG coordination. The Senior GHSA Team Lead will work closely with other USG partners, working at the national level, who also provide support for GHSA implementation, thus presenting a ""whole of government"" approach.
