Description

This project includes the replacement of a single lane, 29-foot long single span steel girder bridge (Bridge #1) with a 49-foot long single span prefabricated steel girder bridge with steel decking and aggregate fill supported on spread footing foundations.� The project also includes removal of a second out of service bridge (Bridge #2) which is approximately one-mile north of Bridge #1 on San Vicente Road.� Bridge #2 consists of a 40-foot long single span structure with a timber deck on a steel railcar superstructure with two steel girders.� The condition of the Bridge #2 has deteriorated to such an extent that the structure has been closed. �Both bridges span San Vicente Creek.� Access to the project sites is along San Vicente Road, a single lane, gravel road. All of the work is occurring in natural resource sensitive areas.� Timely completion of construction will be crucial to minimize disruptions to BLM employees and partner agencies throughout construction and to achieve customer satisfaction.� San Vicente Road is closed to public use (behind a locked gate) and will remain closed during construction.
