THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. In accordance with statutory authority 41 U.S.C. 1901(e)(2) and as implemented by FAR 13.501(a), Military Sealift Command (MSC) intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract on a sole source basis to Wartsila Defense, Inc., (Wartsila) the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Interested parties with the capability of meeting the proposed requirements are requested to provide an email the primary POC identified in this notice no later than 2:00 PM EST on April 9, 2021, expressing interest and outlining its ability to provide the required material. Responses received will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on the open market. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
