- Description
- The Joint Program Executive Officer Armaments & Ammunition (JPEO A&A) office of the Project Manager Close Combat Systems (PM CCS) is hosting a Virtual Industry Day on 20 April 2021 for the XM919 Individual Assault Munition (IAM) effort. This will enable industry and the Army ammunition communities to identify and discuss new and innovative Shoulder Launched Munition (SLM) systems. The IAM is defined as a single-shot, disposable, SLM capable of engaging multiple target configurations from open and confined spaces. SLM related capability gaps were identified by the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Capability Manager Soldier (TCM-Soldier) while reviewing squad SLM capabilities. Through a Military Operations in Urban Terrain / Advanced Technology Objective (MOUT/ATO) effort, the Development Command Armaments Center (DEVCOM-AC) designed and successfully demonstrated a Shoulder Launched Light Assault Munition (SLLAM) to a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6. Additional design and integration activities are required to weaponize the system and validate fuze reliability. A Government-owned Technical Data Package (TDP) can be made available upon registration completion for participant review to assist in understanding the IAM requirements, however the TDP is not required for this Industry Day. The Government is seeking existing production ready SLM systems with the capability of meeting the requirements. The IAM will provide a single SLM, with multi-target capability and the ability to be fired from an enclosure, while being less than 15 pounds and 40 inches. The purpose of this Industry Day is to conduct an open forum dialogue between Industry and U.S. Army participants on the IAM requirements for performance and specification, strategy, and potential solutions. Industry Day provides the opportunity to discuss Industry and Government concerns as they relate to the IAM. Discussion will be conducted in the form of a general Question and Answer (Q&A) Session where Industry will have the opportunity to present their questions regarding the IAM and its requirements. Questions can be asked in advance (refer registration) or on the day of the event itself. The responses will be discussed in this open forum, with other contractors present. One-on-one sessions will be conducted upon receiving an approved written request. All information discussed at Industry Day will be unclassified. The Government will conduct Virtual One-on-One industry sessions immediately following the presentation. The Government reserves the right to deny vendor virtual requests for one-on-one sessions at its discretion. These sessions will be unclassified, and industry will be permitted to ask questions about the IAM, requirements, or on any other information provided during Industry Day. A limit of one session per company is permitted. Each session will be limited to one (1) hour in duration. Participants interested in participating in a One-on-One session must indicate interest during the registration process. Virtual one-on-one session invitations will be sent to registered participants once a timeslot has been scheduled. The virtual one-on-ones will inform Government requirement writers of the current and developing capabilities of the industrial base, as well as provide vendor partners the opportunity to showcase their technologies and discuss information and questions in a private forum. The Government will attempt, but cannot guarantee, the accommodation of vendor requests for different timeslots. Participants are only required to be in attendance during their scheduled appointment. Participants will be notified of the location for their one-on-one sessions. This Industry Day shall not be used to elicit trade secrets. No sales pitches or giveaways shall be permitted from Industry participants. No competition-sensitive or vendor proprietary information/data, will be released. All vendor information will be treated confidentially. The Government will not entertain contractor non-disclosure agreements.
