Description
**UPDATED VERBIAGE** This shall serve as notice for a future industry day to beheld on 21-22 April, 2021 to discuss the procurement of the next generation Aerial Stores Lift Trucks. This industry day will cover an overview of the technical requirements of the systems. The industry day will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams within the DoDs Commercial Virtual Remote (CVR) environment. As documents to be presented during industry day become finalized, they will be posted as attachments to this notice. Please ensure your company is signed up for notifications for this posting. The Air Forces current family of aerial stores lifting devices supports bomber, fighter, transport, and special mission aircraft. To ensure agile combat employment, the Air Force requires a more responsive family of loading and lifting devices that covers the full spectrum of requirements, while ensuring there are no gaps in capability. The Air Force is leaning forward to field a family of lifting and loading devices that could enable the Government to leverage innovative technological solutions and products. The present and future Air Force warfighting environments require expanded lifting and loading capabilities that possess maximum agility while improving generation timelines and loading safety to enable effective mission operations in unorthodox locations, such as partner nations military airfields, civilian airports, unimproved airfields, etc. The Air Force is looking to reduce logistics and repair costs by seeking common modular components to be used within the family of lifting devices. On the morning of the first day we will convene an open session for general discussion on issues and concerns. Beginning that afternoon and continuing into the next morning (as necessary) we will schedule one-on-one sessions with each vendor interested in discussing specific issues and concerns relative to their companys interests. These closed door sessions will not exceed 30 minutes. The sessions will be a back and forth discussion and it is preferred that they not include industry capability briefs. Sessions will be scheduled on a first come-first-served basis. As industry day will be held virtually, you must register with the following POCs: Jacinta Lodge (jacinta.lodge.ctr@us.af.mil ) and Brandi Owens (brandi.owens@us.af.mil) by 15 Apr 2021 toreceive the appropriate log in information and conduct a test connection prior to Industry Day. **PREVIOUS RFI POSTING** The purpose of this request for information (RFI) is to gain industry insightinto the possible creation of a new family of lifting and loading devices and solutions that could enable the Government to leverage the best lifting capabilities possible. Present and future Air Force warfighting environments require lifting and loading capabilities that possess maximum agility while improving generation timelines and loading safety to enable effective mission operations in garrison and in forward locations. To realize the Air Forces vision for agile combat employment, the Air Force requires a more agile family of lifting devices that covers the full spectrum of loading and lifting requirements, while ensuring there are no gaps in capability. Specific requirements are being developed and will be provided to industry when completed.
