Description

Code 85, at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT). �NUWCDIVNPT, Code 85 is responsible for the development and maintainability of undersea defense systems. � This procurement is for a Technology Refresh for a sonar array design on an undersea defense system. �A trade study identified the Stepped Tonpilz Acoustic Transducer (STAT) as the best candidate transducer for a new array. �The goal of this procurement is to ascertain a design that can transition from Science and Technology to future fleet capability. NUWCDIVNPT intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) purchase order on a sole source basis to Image Acoustics Inc. (CAGE Code 8T845) under the authority of FAR 6.302. Image Acoustics Inc. is a small business under the relevant NAICS Code 541330. Image Acoustics Inc. has developed a design for the STAT for the technology Refresh array design, holds the patent on the STAT, and has prior development work on STAT technology. The STAT is the proprietary product of Image Acoustics Inc. The Period of Performance will be from date of award through September 30th, 2021. Deliveries shall be F.O.B. Destination, Newport, RI, USA (02841). This procurement is being processed using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This requirement is an other than full and open competition, sole source procurement as concurred with by the NUWCDIVNPT Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP). The NAICS Code is 541330; the size standard is $38.5M. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Offers for other products must contain complete product information and prices (to include labor categories and hours proposed, and any material or other direct costs). The following addenda or additional terms and conditions apply: Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating is DO-C9.
