Description

This is a request for Sources Sought only posting. Interested Vendors should list themselves as interested on this FBO posting or contact John Azevedo (Procurement Specialist) for an upcoming RFP that will be issued as a firm-fixed-price subcontract for the 12kV Cryoplant Feeder Expansion, located at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, 2575 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025 in San Mateo County. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC) is seeking qualified electrical subcontractors to collaborate with SLAC on completing this project. The purpose of this project is to provide a dedicated 12kV feeder to the Cryoplant while utilizing as much of the existing conduit and cable infrastructure as possible, in accordance with the SOW/Drawings � PRS #: 21-028 (227 pages) dated March 25, 2021. The work scope is as follows: DEMO: Remove two lengths of cable (VV4 and VV1) from VVS9 back to Manhole 9. Leave enough cable to allow for new Separable connector installation. Remove abandoned length of cable between VVS1 to existing pull cabinet at sector 4. Intercept existing VV4, VV1 cable by strategically cutting the cable in manhole 9 leaving as much useable cable as possible for installation of new splice. Remove existing splice on cable VV3 leaving as much useable cable as possible for installation of new TEE connector NEW WORK: Pull new 15kV EPR cable (CRX) from Manhole 9 (sector 18) to Manhole 2(sector4). Install new TEE Connectors, Splices and Separable Connectors on existing cables at Manhole 9. Pull new cables back into VVS9 Install new splices at each manhole. Install new separable connectors on the ends of cable CRX for connections to existing cables. Core a 5� hole through top of manhole 2 accessing the gallery floor. Install new pull cabinet in the south alcove at sector 4. Install 5� RGS conduit to new pull cabinet. Install 5� RGS conduit from new pull cabinet to existing pull cans Pull new 15kV EPR cable from Manhole 2 to new Pull cabinet. Install new separable connector on each ends of new cable installs. Install new 15kV EPR Cable from new pull cabinet to each existing pull cabinets and terminate each end with new Separable connectors. Re work transformer primary connection at VVS5 such that VV1 is not connected to the transformer and VV2 is bolted together for a westward circuit continuation. Make various connections between existing and new cables as shown in the contract documents. Install new manhole cable racking and support, based on the new cable installations, where new splices, TEE and separable connectors are installed. Install cable labeling as described in the contract drawings and specifications. TESTING & TESTING COORDINATION: SLAC will be VLF testing existing cables. Contractor to coordinate their activities with SLAC Operations to allow for testing in manholes that are not being occupied by the Contractor. VLF Testing of Select Cables prior to the start of contractor work scope. VLF Testing of New Cable Installation for each cable segment. After Splice has been installed After Separable Connector has been installed Prior to Final Terminations to equipment. The Contractor shall perform insulation resistance (5kV) testing on newly installed cables to ensure cables have not been damaged during installation. The anticipated RFP release date is April 21, 2021 or sooner and the Award is anticipated to be by May 14, 2021 or sooner. The Procurement Specialist is the only point of contact (POC) during the sources sought period in regards to the upcoming RFP.� Any communication with other SLAC staff is grounds for disqualification.�
