- Description
- Agency/Office: Army Contracting Command Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) Title: Special Notice GVS OTA, W15QKN-17-9-1025 Task Request 17, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (RAI) 10X Dismounted Infantry Platoon Description: The Government intends to issue a Task Request (TR) 17 for the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (RAI) 10X Dismounted Infantry Platoon to the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC) under the Ground Vehicle Systems (GVS) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA), W15QKN-17-9-1025. The GVS OTA was entered into between the Army Contracting Command (ACC) and the NAMC on 26 September 2017, in support of Ground Vehicle System related Research and Development prototype projects. The Government will utilize the GVS OTA to award this effort. The intent of TR17 is to seek off-the-shelf or limited development Robotics and AI prototypes for Government integration into a system-of-systems with the objective of making the Infantry Platoon's lethality, mobility, protection, situational awareness, endurance, persistence, and depth ten times (10X) more effective and allow the Platoon members to make better decisions 10X faster. The selected integrated prototypes as a system-of-systems will participate in a 10X RAI Equipped Infantry Platoon Technology Demonstration (also referred to as 10X Tech Demo) for Senior Army, Joint, and Defense Department leadership to be held tentatively 12-16 September 2022 at Fort Benning, GA and the Project Convergence 22 Demonstration to be held tentatively on 25 Oct 2022 at Yuma Proving Grounds, AZ. The Government will provide three (3) surrogate Small Multipurpose Equipment Transport (SMET) platforms to Georgia Tech Research Institute, likely the HDT Hunter Wheeled Offload Logistics Follower (WOLF). The SMET surrogate platforms will be integrated with a Robotic Technology Kernel (RTK) based autonomy kit and include defined Robotics and Autonomy Systems Ground Interoperability Profiles (RAS-G IOP) interfaces to enable 10x payload integration. The Government will provide documentation detailing the RAS-G IOP interfaces and RTK Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for prototypes that require integration with the ground platform autonomy kit. The Government will leverage Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI (an Army-sponsored University Affiliated Research Center) to integrate prototype robotics and AI systems through Manned Unmanned Teaming (MUMT). The anticipated Period of Performance for Task Request 17 is fifteen (15) months The Government does not intend to pursue a Follow-on Production effort under the authority of 10 USC 2371b(f) for this effort. NOTE: This Special Notice is for informational purposes only. A prototype project will not be awarded in response to this announcement. The purpose of this announcement is to provide industry advanced notification of the Governments intent to release Task Request 17 to the NAMC.
