Description
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: USCG Base Kodiak requires pickup, retrieval, storage, and delivery of all non U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment, freight and packages to include all Coast Guard ships operating in the Dutch Harbor area of responsibility. PICKUP AND DELIVERY: The contractor/agent will act as the sole pickup and delivery point of contact for all mail and freight services for Coast Guard Operational Units making logistical port calls in Dutch Harbor, AK. This will include all shipping and delivery services, but not limited to the following carriers: FedEx; USPS; UPS; Alaska Airlines, Penn Air and any other freight that may make deliveries there for future delivery to the US Coast Guard Cutters who pull into the port of Dutch Harbor. Deliveries will be made within the port of Dutch Harbor within 24 hours of notification of ships arrival, or seven days a week between the hours of 0600 to 2300. Anything outside of these core hours will be on a case by case basis to include advance notification to Base Kodiak Port Services duty watch stander due to immediate need of mission critical parts or services from husbandry agent. STORAGE: Contractor will receive and store all items in anticipation of arrival of Coast Guard asset arriving to area. This includes all mail, large freight, and packages. These items will need to be sorted by recipient at warehouse address and stored inside a climate controlled warehouse. Items need to be clearly marked and labeled in a units identifiable location within the warehouse. Upon arrival of unit to UMC (Coast Guard) Pier in Dutch Harbor, AK the contractor is to deliver all packages for unit. Due to the possibility of packages being left behind or delivered after a unit has departed the area the contractor will work with individual units to setup alternate means of forwarding those specific packages. The Coast Guard unit will incur any additional costs associated with those forwarding services provided by the contractor.
