*****This update on April 13, 2021 is to inform interested vendors that the period of performance for this requirement is anticipated to begin early October 2021 for a period of approximately 8�weeks***** Detroit Floating Plant Drydocking The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Detroit District is seeking contractors for the Detroit Floating Plant Drydocking project.� This Sources Sought announcement is for planning and market research purposes only and is NOT an Invitation for Bid or Request for Quote or Proposal. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this Sources Sought Notice.� The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any cost associated with the submission of responses or comments. Description of Required Work: The general scope of the work to be done under this contract consists of furnishing all labor, material, equipment, supplies, facilities, and services required, and performing the work described herein for repairing the Tug Demolen and Crane Barge Veler.� Preliminary list of work to be performed on Tug Demolen: Drydock the Vessel, Clean Hull for Visual Inspections, Remove Propeller Collar and Replace Packing, Remove all Fenders, Sandblast and Paint Hull, Ultrasonic Testing of Hull, Open & Recondition Sea Chests & Valves, Replace Deck Hatches, Clean and Inspect Fuel Tanks, Keel Coolers for Engine and Generators, Hull Plate Renewal and Repair to meet Subchapter ""M"" Compliance. Type of Plant, Sea-going Tug Length, overall, 108-ft. Max Beam - Including Guard Rails, 29-ft. Max Height - Exclusive of Mast, Antenna, Etc., 34-ft Displacement, 344 Long Tons Draft, light, 13-ft Horsepower, 2,000 hp Construction, Steel, welded Preliminary list of work to be performed on Crane Barge Veler: Drydock the Barge, Clean Hull for Visual Inspection, Remove Spuds and Replace Spud Parts, Replace Doors, Replace Boiler, Sandblast and Paint Hull, Remove and Replace Black Water Tank, Sandblast and Paint Deck with Non-Skid. Type of Plant, Crane Barge Length, overall, 150-ft. Max Beam - Including Guard Rails, 46-ft. Max Height � Including spuds lifted, Antenna, Etc., 65-ft. Displacement, 1,000 Tons Draft, light, 5.0-ft Construction, Steel, welded BID EVALUATION FACTORS: The Tug Demolen and the Crane Barge Veler will be delivered to and returned from the shipyard by the Government. The Cost of transporting the plant (Demolen and Veler) will be considered in the bid evaluations to determine the lowest cost to the government. The cost to transport is $284.98 per nautical mile. Additional Information: Period of Performance: Anticipated to begin�early October 2021 for a duration of approximately 8�weeks. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611, Ship Building and Repairing, which has a small business�size standard of 1,250 employees. The responses received to this notice shall be in summary format and shall not exceed five (5) pages, including the Sources Sought Information Request Form.
