Description

FLAIM TRAINER AND FLAIM EXTINGUISHER. NAICS Code is 333318. The size standard is 1000 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is W.S. Darley, Itasca, IL. The purchase is for one FLAIM Trainer System and one FLAIM Extinguisher System. The FLAIM Trainer is a portable fire fighter training system which includes backpack, self contained breathing apparatus, hose real and branch, virtual reality subsystem, heat suit and scenario software. This virtual reality system recreates the conditions of a real fire for training purposes. The user can feel heat and hose vaults. This equipment fully integrates with industry standard firefighter personal protection equipment. The FLAIM Extinguisher is a portable extinguisher training system which includes virtual reality headset, extinguisher simulator and scenario software. This Augmented Virtual Reality (AVR) system incorporates key educational environments for training at Wright Patterson AFB such as Hospital, Labs, Airport and Military Base virtual locations. The system include statistical learning outcomes analysis to aid in training. This portable AVR training system will allow ease of training and reduce costs at the 3 separate Fire Stations. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received within five (5) business days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
