Description
Background The National Institute of Mental Health Section on Developmental Neurogenomics (SDN) requires services for bulk sequencing of RNA extracted from 180 postmortem cortical samples. The data will be used by NIMH scientists to characterize sex-differences in human cortical gene expression. Purpose This request is part of an ongoing study on sex-differences in the human brain. The SDN has previously identified regions of reproducible anatomical sex-differences in the human brain from structural MRI. By characterizing gene expression in samples from postmortem brain tissue, the SDN can better understand the potential molecular and cellular underpinning of sex-differences in anatomy.
