- Description
- In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy Section 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA's decision to contract with Basic Commerce & Industries, (BCI) of Morristown, NJ via single source procedures. This procurement will extend the period of performance of five (5) active Task Orders (TO) issued against Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract DTFACT-16-D-00001 awarded to BCI that provide the FAA with Aviation Weather Engineering & Evaluation Support (AWEES). The AWEES Contract is critical in providing technical and engineering services to the Program Management Office and other sponsors to support execution of critical Requirements and Concept Development and Solution Implementation activities for weather programs. A competitive Screening Information Request (SIR) for follow-on AWEES support is currently in the acquisition planning stages. The FAA has a need to continue these requirements until the competitive SIR can be completed. Current services under these Task Orders will expire on May 03, 2021 which is prior to the FAAs ability to complete the follow-on competitive requirement. BCI is the only source that can continue these services while the follow-on support is put in place. Accordingly, a competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA is not liable for any costs associated with the preparing of a response to this announcement. Any questions or comments about this announcement may be directed to Stephen Jenniss at Stephen.Jenniss@faa.gov no later than 4PM Eastern Time on April 16, 2021. NOTE: Vendors are advised to monitor betasam.gov for notices relative to the follow-on procurement.
