Description

This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for construction services.� The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Subtropical Horticulture Research Unit in Miami FL., has a requirement to Renovate the Interior spaces of Building 36. The solicitation number is 12405B21R0010 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFP).� The NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5M.� Contractors shall not directly contact the�facility to discuss this requirement.� During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions. The work includes but is not limited to:� The contractor shall provide include all services and labor, equipment, materials, supervision and personal protective equipment necessary to renovate the interior spaces of Building 36 at the Subtropical Horticulture Research Unit in Miami FL..� The work to be done consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work in strict accordance with the statement of work.� �The drop ceilings, insulation, unused wiring, cabinets, bath wall will all be demolished.� All floors except for bedrooms will be prepped and cleaned for finishing with epoxy paint.� Bedrooms will have a vinyl plank surface installed.� All interior room walls, doors, windows, and associated trim will be primed and painted with two coats of Sherwin Williams, or equivalent, paint.� Exterior of building will be cleaned in its entirety and external doors, windows and trim including soffit will be painted with exterior grade enamel paint.� Bathroom shower will be prepped and tiled.� Drop ceiling will be installed in all rooms and be fitted with drop ceiling LED lighting fixtures.� Insulation about the ceiling will be blown in R30.� All entrance and exit doors will be pre-hung steel doors with hardware.� The shower will get a new door in existing frame with new hardware.� The back room will get a new hollow core painted door.� There will be a new opening between Rooms 7 and 8 and the doorway to the kitchen will be sealed and painted.� The kitchen shall receive the installation of a new cabinet base only (Composite case, shaker style, � inch shelves and Formica, or equivalent, top.� A new sink and faucet system shall be installed in the new kitchen cabinet base. The old shower space will receive a new shower, drain, water lines, sink and shower hot and cold water piping and valves.� The old bathroom will get a new sink, new toilet and new water valves. A new Whirlpool 17.7 CF 28� wide or similar refrigerator will be installed in the kitchen.� The existing tankless water heater in Rm 9 will be connected to the hot water piping.� The existing HVAC unit shall undergo maintenance and repair, the blower and ducts will be cleaned.� Any wiring not up to code will be replaced and new conduit installed in spaces as needed.� All unused circuits will be removed to the panel.� Data drops shall be run from the Mech Room to the main room (three total) and one each in the kitchen, Florida room and bedroom. Contractors are required to be actively registered in the System for Award Management, (SAM) prior to submitting a proposal.� You can register on- line at www.sam.gov. �If you are already registered and your registration has expired, you will need to go the SAM website and update your information to reactivate your registration.
