- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 �Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,� as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-2067736 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2021-05, Effective 03/10/2021.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a small business size standard size of 1,000 employees. This requirement is not set-aside for small business. This is Brand-name requirement, no substitutions. Background and description of requirement: The Human Eosinophil Section (HES) conducts basic and translational research related to the role of the eosinophil and eosinophil activation in disease pathogenesis, with the ultimate goal of developing novel diagnostic tools and treatment approaches for hypereosinophilic syndromes and other conditions associated with marked eosinophilia, including helminth infection. The HES has designed a clinical protocol to estimate the prevalence of gastric motility disorders in participants with Eosinophilic Gastritis (EG) that have symptoms suggestive of a gastric motility disorder, to assess the relationship between gastric function, disease activity, patient-reported symptoms and quality of life (QoL) in participants with EG, and to investigate the underlying pathophysiology of gastric dysfunction in participants with EG. The PilOt Assessment To Find Evidence of gastric motility abnormalities in Eosinophilic gastric Disorders (OAT-FEED) is currently pending IRB approval. In order to assess the number of patients with gastric or enteric obsgraction (pyloric stenosis, enteric strictures) detected by endoscopy, it essential to use an EndoFlip (Endolumenal Functional Lumen �Imaging Probe).
