Description
**Pending FY22 funds**THIS SPECIAL NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. This notice is for informational purposes only. The intent of this Sources Sought Notice 36C24421Q0603 is to identify any Small Businesses, mainly SDVOSB/VOSB vendors who can provide a Brand Name Follett Ice Maker, Model 50FB425A-S, as listed in the attached Statement of Need. This is neither a solicitation, nor a promise of future work. Small Business, SDVOSB, and/or VOSB authorized distributors are encouraged to submit your company s information and capability statement in response to this Sources Sought Notice. This notice does not constitute a formal Request for Quote (RFQ), nor is the government obligated to issue an RFQ. In addition, the Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. Potential vendors should respond with their ability to meet the following requirement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 4, Network Contracting Office 4 (NCO 4), is seeking information and potential qualified sources capable of meeting the Statement of Work (SOW) for Brand Name Requirement: Ice and Water Dispensers, for the Coatesville VA Medical Center, 1400 Black Horse Road, Coatesville, PA. STATEMENT OF WORK The Coatesville VAMC has a brand name only requirement for five (5) Follet 50FB425A-S ice and water dispensers. The dispensers will be used in the medical center s Community Living Center and Domiciliaries with one unit placed on each floor of the unit for Veteran use. The ice machines will be used daily, as Veterans and their families will have unlimited access to the ice and water dispensers for their personal use. Introduction The Follett 50FB425A-S ice and water dispenser is the current model used throughout the Coatesville VAMC campus. It has been found to be a very reliable brand with minimal downtime or faults associated with the heavy use encountered in an institutional environment. There is an extensive parts supply inventory associated with ice and water dispensers and the facility already maintains this inventory. Parts for the Follett brand machines are easily sourced locally without long lead times enabling quick repairs. The facility has invested in the training for the medical center s maintenance and repair staff so that they have the expertise to repair and maintain the Follett brand products used throughout the facility.  Purchasing a different brand would not only require duplicative training but the loss of dollars invested for providing the training. The medical center also maintains an inventory of parts to repair and service the Follett brand of ice makers. The items in inventory are water filters and spare parts for maintenance. Money would be lost if the medical center procured a brand other than Follett, as the training element is duplicative, and the inventory of water filters and spare parts would go to waste. The buying of a brand other than Follett is cost prohibitive for the Government. Salient Characteristics The ice makers must meet the following salient characteristics: -Automatic load in freestanding configuration -50 lb (22.7 kg) of storage -Water station air-cooled ice machine in base -Environmentally responsible -R404a ice machine mounted in base and to be removable as one unit for cleaning and maintenance -Ice machine to produce approximately 425 lb (193.0 kg) per day of Chewblet compressed nugget ice at air temp. of 70 F (21 C), water temp. of 50 F (10 C) -Ice machine equipped with automatic self-flushing and Quiet Night sleep mode -Dispenser to have automatic bin level control to start and stop ice machine and separate circuitry to allow dispensing to continue with ice machine removed -Dispenser equipped with 6.00"" (15.24 cm) adjustable legs, flanged feet -Storage area insulated with non-CFC, high density, foamed-in-place polyurethane. 7' (2.1 m) cord -NEMA 5-15 90º hospital-grade plug provided -NSF and ETL listed -Sensor dispense Start date: November 1, 2021 Length of Service: N/A Work Tasks and Deliverables Deliver and install all items listed above in the Coatesville VAMC.
