Description

This is a Sources Sought notice. This is not a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of qualified sources to perform a potential contract requirement. Purpose and Objective:� The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Viral Hepatitis (DVH) uses Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to characterize infectious agents (hepatitis viruses) from clinical samples. �CDC is seeking potential suppliers for a system capable of processing microfluidic chips for preparation of DNA libraries suitable for NGS using Illumina sequencers. These units must meet the following minimum specifications: A platform capable to generate DNA libraries suitable for Next Generation Illumina Sequencers (MiSeq). The platform must be compatible with Fluidigm Integrated Fluid Circuits. The system shall rely on a �Microfluidics solutions for the preparation of DNA libraries suitable for Illumina sequencers. Upon sample loading, the unit should be able to perform the corresponding assay steps including reagent mixing, thermal cycling, PCR amplification and harvesting all in an automated fashion. The platform shall compatible with laboratory requirements and be a bench top less than 2.5 feet x2.5 feet x2.5 feet.
