- NOTICE OF INTENT THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.� Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, intends to issue a contract modification, on a sole source basis, to the following Architect Engineering Firm hereafter referred to as the Designer of Record (DOR): CDM Federal Programs Corporation (CDM) This sole source contract action is required for completion of the following scope of work:������ This will be a modification to an existing task order, W912EP20F0021, for design services of four Las Americas Bridges over Rio Piedras (Contract� 4) under the Rio Puerto Nuevo Project.� Bridges that shall be modified as part of Rio Puerto Nuevo Contract 4 are the following: (1) Las Americas Expressway (PR-18) Bridge at Station 156+65, (2) North East (NE) Access Ramp at Station 163+85, (3) Pi�ero Avenue (PR- 17) East Bridges (Eastbound and Westbound) at Station 169+22, and (4) South East (SE) Access Ramp at Station 174+50. Additionally, this task order includes improvements of the Rio Puerto Nuevo Channel from Station 147+40 to Station 176+50; including a stilling basin at the project downstream terminus and an upstream transition from the improved channel to the existing channel. The task order was issued with the requirements to retrofit four (4) bridges in Puerto Rico.� The task order was awarded in December 2019� In January/February 2021 a determination was made that simply retro-fitting the bridges was not feasible and instead replacement of the bridges (or the channel area under and around the bridges) would be necessary. Therefore, additional work would be required by CDM-Smith to complete a 100% design for the bridges.� As the Designer of Record for this project, CDM is in a unique position to have and be familiar with all the information required to complete this modification to the existing contract. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice of intent. This Notice of Intent is hereby published in accordance with FAR 5.201.� All responses received within 15 days of the posting of this notice, will be considered by the Government.� A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
