Description

The mission of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is: Fostering innovation, competitiveness and job growth in the United States by conducting high quality and timely patent and trademark examination and review proceedings in order to produce reliable and predictable intellectual property rights; guiding intellectual property policy, and improving intellectual property rights protection; and delivering intellectual property information and education worldwide.1 The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is an agency under the Department of Commerce (DOC).� The mission of the Office of General Counsel (OGC) is: to provide timely and innovative legal advice which promotes innovation and creativity2. OGC is concerned with the defense of agency decisions in court and administrative tribunals, internal agency legal advice, and regulation of persons practicing before the USPTO. This acquisition will provide the OGC a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Legal Document Management System (LDMS). This LDMS will provide OGC a comprehensive, centralized repository for storing and retrieving legal documents and emails that are easy to access and efficient for use.
