Solicitation # HHSNIHOPCSBSS-21-008806 Date Posted -04/26/2021 This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Department of Perioperative Medicine intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price for Thermosensory Stimulation equipment, with Compass Medical Technologies, a division of Medoc Advance Medical System This system is needed for studies with sickle cell patients for assessing quantitative sensory testing of subjects enrolled in sickle cell. Medoc devices allow research in different settings, such as thermal, pressure, and vibration evaluations. The Advanced Thermosensory Stimulator 2 (TSA2) is the latest in precise thermal pain stimulation by Medoc. It is the only one in the market that offers unique capabilities, including external control programming, rapid stimulation rates, single/dual configurations, dynamic/advanced protocols, and compatibility with other programs Compass Medical is the sole proprietor of the device. There is no other known company that can provide the breadth and depth of knowledge of the unique instrumentation to properly service the device. Service engineer support is� �with factory-certified trainers who are kept up to date on all system updates and global customer feedback. There is no other known service organization that can replicate this level of training and expertise on the device. The NIH intends to award a one (1) year fixed price purchase order to Compass Medical Technologies. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date, May 3 2021 at 10:00 EST specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Priscilla Abalos, Contract Specialist, Priscilla.abalos@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
