- U.S. GOVERNMENT General Services Administration (GSA) seeks to lease the following space: State:��Alabama City:��Birmingham Delineated Area:��North:� 15th Avenue; West:� HWY 65; South:� 4th Avenue; East:� Hwy 280 Minimum Sq. Ft. (ABOA):��2,664 Maximum Sq. Ft. (ABOA):��2,930 Space Type:��Office:1644/General Storage:1,020 Parking Spaces (Total):��4 Parking Spaces (Surface):��4 Parking Spaces (Structured):��0 Parking Spaces (Reserved):��0 Full Term:��10 Firm Term:��5 Option Term:��0 Additional Requirements:�� BUILDING REQUIREMENTS a.� Office space shall not be located in a building that has thoroughfare under, or through, any part of the building. b. The building must have a 24-hour security guard and/or an approved security system. c. Agency's�personnel must have 24-hour, unrestricted access to the office and parking area. d. Office cleaning must be performed during core business hours that have been agreed upon by building personnel and the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) or Headquarters Branch Director (HQBD). e. Agency's office space shall not be located on the ground floor or top floor of any building. OI office space should consist of contiguous space located on one floor. Agency's�offices shall not be located with window space which is adjacent to outside fire escapes, ledges or mezzanines. Agency's office space shall be located in a building with a lobby, as there shall be no direct access to OI office space from outside the building. f. Security requirements for the parking area structure for official Government vehicles will depend on local conditions which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the SAC/HQBD. Parking areas must be able to accommodate full-size vans and trucks. The building must provide a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General SPACE AND SECURITY STANDARDS September 2019 7 sufficient number of dedicated contiguous parking spots for law enforcement vehicles. g. A freight or public elevator that has the ability to provide �individual service� is required when OI personnel must transport secured individuals or evidence. The elevator should provide direct service from the drop off point in the parking or loading area to the office floor. Where appropriate, elevator keys shall be provided to the senior OI representative. h. Non-descript signage should be utilized to provide general room assignments and should not identify the specific use of the space.
