- The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Hawaii intends to issue a solicitation for a firm fixed-price, non-personal services contract for Regulated Medical Wastes (RMW) and Cytotoxic/Chemotherapy Waste Disposal Services to support the Environmental Services Branch at Tripler Army Medical Center and Outlying Clinics, Hawaii.� This requirement is for a period of performance from 01 October 2021 through 30 September 2022 (Base Period), with four (4) one-year option periods. Required qualifications includes but is not limited to: (1) The contractor shall provide Regulated Medical Wastes (RMW) and Cytotoxic/Chemotherapy Waste Disposal Services in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).� (2) Contractor shall have a certified operator�s permit for their disposal facility to accept and treat RMW and Cytotoxic/Chemotherapy waste from The State of Hawaii Department of Health. All work shall be performed by a trained/certified employee. The Contractor shall ensure that employees who handle, package, transport, label, mark, placard, prepare shipping documents, and respond to spill response will be trained (i.e., 49 CFR, Part 172.700 and 177.816) and certified in accordance with all applicable federal, state, or local regulations. The contractor will provide certificate of training to the COR for its employees at the start of the contract and annually thereafter or as long as training certificates are within regulatory training requirement expiration dates. The Contractor shall ensure that all drivers have proper DOT HAZMAT endorsements for transport over highways.� The Contractor shall provide copies of the proper DOT HAZMAT endorsement to the COR when obtained.�� (3) The Contractor shall provide a transport vehicle of sufficient size to transport contractor furnished containers/drums to their processing facility. A spill containment and cleanup kit will be kept in each motor vehicle transporting hazardous waste. Each driver will be fully trained in the execution with the use of the spill kit and clean up procedure. (4) The Contractor shall provide a copy of their permit certifying from the State of Hawaii, Department of Health that they are authorized to conduct business in destruction of Cytotoxic/chemotherapy waste and RMW.� The Contractor shall ensure that the permit is valid at all times and will automatically forward a copy to the COR of the renewed permits. The proposed acquisition will be set-aside 100% to small business concerns.
