Description
NASAs Technology Transfer Program solicits inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market the following technology. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. THE TECHNOLOGY: NASA Goddard has developed an instrument suite that provides four simultaneous ion and neutral measurements of the atmospheric column. Each measurement is a function of altitude with variable sensitivity for neutral atmospheric species. The variable sensitivity makes it possible to extend the measurements over the altitude range of 100 to more than 700 km. The four instruments in the suite are: Neutral wind-temperature spectrometer (WTS); Ion-drift ion-temperature spectrometer (IDTS); Neutral mass spectrometer (NMS); Ion mass spectrometer (IMS). The WTS and IDTS are capable of separating O and N2 and O+ from H+. The mass spectrometers can separate masses with resolution of 1 in 64 to enable metallic ion identification in the lower thermosphere. The energy analyzer features of the WTS and IDTS will also enable for the first time the measurement of the thermosphere-to-exosphere transition in the Earths upper atmosphere. To express interest in this opportunity, please submit a license application through NASAs Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) by visiting https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/GSC-TOPS-96 If you have any questions, please e-mail NASAs Technology Transfer Program at Agency-Patent-Licensing@mail.nasa.gov with the title of this Technology Transfer Opportunity as listed in this beta.SAM.gov notice and your preferred contact information. For more information about licensing other NASA-developed technologies, please visit the NASA Technology Transfer Portal at https://technology.nasa.gov/ These responses are provided to members of NASAs Technology Transfer Program for the purpose of promoting public awareness of NASA-developed technology products, and conducting preliminary market research to determine public interest in and potential for future licensing opportunities. No follow-on procurement is expected to result from responses to this Notice.
