Description
DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND: The National Institutes of Health - NICHD intends to procure the services of a contractor to provide 270 units of High Flow Filters as specified below (6D , 40L , 20MIC, ABS W/U Cup O-RING) for effective water treatment. The filter cartridges will be used to maintain water quality in the 6 Shared Zebrafish facility. The 6 Shared Zebrafish facility requires an upgrade to the filtration system to cope with the underperformance with filters that were originally installed. These cartridges are required consumables for the filter housings and are used on all four systems in the 6SZF with each system using four filters at the same time. These filters are the primary filtration of the building 6SZF which houses hundreds of thousands of zebrafish used for research across many different institutes. These filters help stop biological and other debris from circulating the system which could expose the animals to disease. They also stop invasive species such as bryozoans and drain flies from entering the animal holding tanks and causing harm to the animals. There are other sources of filtration on the system such as ultraviolet lights, but these filters provide the only barrier filtration. The Lab/program has done extensive research and is confident hat Pall filters will work best for the system. According to the Lab, failure to procure these filters will cause poor water quality and water pressure, resulting in the death of research animals. These Pall Ultipleat high flow filters last much longer than other brands tried in the past which will save the government money and time...The Pall filters are the best possible option for the needs of the facility and the research it supports.. This is a combined synopsis/ solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6 and FAR 13 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice # NICHDWaterFilters05052021. In order to comply with the requirements in this notice, the responses should be based on our interpretation of the general requirements provided below. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation as the program already issued a separate solicitation and received some quotes which will be evaluated at the same time as any other quotes/proposals received after this notice is completed. In order to be considered for award the offeror must provide all required supplies to the exact specification below: Large diameter high flow filter (4) with 20 micron filter rating.
