Description

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 �Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,� as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-2071387 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2021-05, Effective 03/10/2021.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a small business size standard size of 1,000 employees. This requirement is not set-aside for small business. This is Brand-name or equal requirement. Background and description of requirement: Lab Background: The VRC Virology Laboratory comprises the Virology, Humoral Immunology, and Structural Biology Sections and related Cores. The goal of the Virology Laboratory is to conduct research to better understand the cellular and molecular regulation of viral gene expression, viral entry into the host cell, optimization of immune responses to gene-based vaccination and correlates of immune protection, assessment of active and passive approaches for HIV-1 vaccine development, and to apply structural biology techniques toward rational vaccine design for emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. The work of the Virology Laboratory is closely integrated with other VRC basic and translational research Laboratories and Cores to facilitate research and development of novel vaccine candidates against pathogens threatening public health. ??? Lab requirement: The VRC needs Mettler Toledo Rainin Pipet tips to conduct bench research to measure biological reagents and other liquids. These tips are the only compatible tips for the pipets we us in all bench lab research to� measure liquid in microliters (?L) with precision, and are most commonly used in all experiments, research and analysis in the Virology and VRC .They aspirate and discharge liquid by volumetric displacement of air by the vertical movement of an internal piston. This is a multiple/scheduled delivery request. Deliveries take place between 05/20/2021-12/31/2021 See attached list for Catalog numbers and quantities. If an alternate item is offered, it must be accompanied with verification from Mettler Toledo Rainin that it is compatible with their pipettors.
