- This synopsis serves to announce the Department of Defense Education Activity�s (DoDEA) intent to acquire a Bridge contract for Information Technology Support Services for the schools and facilities located in Korea, Okinawa, and mainland Japan. This effort will be conducted on a sole source basis to ActioNet Inc. in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The basis for restricting competition is due to the short period of performance coupled with the turn-around time that is needed to obtain approval from host nations for employees to work overseas. The DoDEA Information Technology Division manages, directs, and oversees all planning, support, and operations for all aspects of the DoDEA information technology domain. The IT Division maintains a US Government employee staff at the DoDEA Pacific Director�s Office and also manages computer field support personnel at the schools and District Offices. The computer field support personnel, known as Administrative Technologists (AT), provide direct support to end-users, end-user computing device management, and rudimentary system administration at the schools and District Offices. US Government employees assigned to the IT Division in the Pacific Region located at the DoDEA Pacific Director�s Office, Torii Station, Okinawa, Japan perform all higher level activities related to defining hardware and software requirements, defining elements of server and network architecture, network design and component configuration, business systems support, and develops overall support processes and standards. This effort is to provide Tier 1 support for end-user customer technology, to include, but not limited to, hardware and software support, desktop and laptop management, server and network support, handheld device support (tablets, other) and critical aspects of proactive customer relationship management (CRM) in 48 K-12 DoDEA schools and offices in Korea and Japan.� The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to provide Tier 1 Information Technology Support personnel as required by DoDEA.� This bridge will be for a period of three (3) months. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a Request for Quotation (RFQ); it is strictly a Request for Information (RFI) as defined in FAR 15.201e.� NO COMPETITIVE SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS.� The RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a RFP or as an obligation on the part of the Government for follow-on acquisition.� Responses to this notice are not offers and will not be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.� Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI.� All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly.� All interest parties that feel they can provide a comparable alternative to this source may forward their detailed written capability statement to Hillary.turnbull@dodea.edu no later than Monday 17 May 2021 @ 8:00am eastern standard time.
