- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command, in support of PMA-261 CH-53 Heavy Lift Helicopters Program Office, intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract with General Electric Company (GE) Lynn, MA to manufacture and deliver T64 Engine Core replacement kits as part of the CH/MH-53E Engine Reliability Improvement Program (ERIP). The contract will include T64 Engine Core replacement kits, related components and engineering and manufacturing functions to support CH/MH-53E Heavy Lift Helicopter operations. General Electric Company has been the sole designer and developer of engines for the H-53 legacy and CH-53K helicopters, and, accordingly, is the known responsible firm with the requisite knowledge, capability, experience, special tooling, and test facilities necessary to fulfill the Government's requirements within the required timeframes herein. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302.� Interested parties, however, may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis.� A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Ms. Tatiana Schaefer at Tatiana.schaefer@ge.com
