Description

This is a non-personal services contract to provide media relations training for the United States Secret Service (USSS). The training will be designed to familiarize students with the critical skills needed when communicating and interacting with the media as spokespersons for the agency. The training should empower students to obtain practical tools/skills to excel during media interviews and news conferences which deal with aggressive and challenging issues. The contractor shall develop a three-day intensive training course (delivered via instructor led training (ILT) or virtual/remote training), which allows students to learn the fundamentals of media relations and its important role in communicating with the public and news media. The course material shall consist of media relations instruction, videos, role-playing exercises, mock interviews, press conferences, and feedback sessions, which will allow each student to experience the territory of news media communications. The overall objective of this training is to provide students with the ability and confidence to interact effectively with the news media, whether in a public relations or crisis management situation. In addition, the course should provide students with exposure to live interviews, such as being recorded on camera, while having to deal with possible negative issues related to the agency.
