- Notice of Intent to Sole Source The Corporal Michael J Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMCVAMC) has a new sole source requirement for ConMed System 2450 Electrosurgical Unit (ESU). The generator will provide the CMCVAMC Dermatology department the ability to treat Veterans with dermatological medical problems. The use of electrosurgery in dermatological procedures will stop bleeding (hemostasis) or destroy abnormal skin growths. The generator requires a power supply and a handpiece with one or more electrodes controlled by a switch on the handpiece or a footswitch. The CMVAMC has only located one vendor capable of providing a compatible electrosurgical unit that s able to interface with the current equipment to continue repeatable, sustainable, and reliable outcome inpatient care, as well as safe continuity of use by the Dermatologists. This notice is being posted so that any unknown vendors who are capable of providing this item may come forward and express their interest and capability in providing the ConMed System 2450 Electrosurgical Unit (ESU to the CMVAMC. If your company/organization is capable of providing the required item, please provide your entity's capability statement to lashawn.knight@va.gov. In addition to your capability statement please also provide any applicable distribution agreements regarding Conmed LLC, the size and socioeconomic status of your company, and any other information pertinent to this requirement. Reference Procurement ID number 36C24421Q0733 in the subject of the email. ***This is not a request for quote, no quotes should be sent in response to this notice*** STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) MEDICINE SERVICE/DERMATOLOGY DIVISION GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Corporal Michael J Crescenz VA Medical Center GI Unit treats veterans with dermatological medical problems. The patient encounter for 2019 was approximately 18000 visits and in 2020 during COVID-19 13,800 visits. Procedures such as skin lesions require the use of surgical removal to diagnose and treat. Electrosurgery is used in dermatological procedures to stop bleeding (haemostasias) or to destroy abnormal skin growths. In electrosurgery, high frequency, alternating electric current at various voltages (200 to 10,000 V) is passed through the skin to generate heat. It requires a power supply and a handpiece with one or more electrodes. SUPPLIES/ SERVICES: This is an urgent need and CMCVAMC request delivery within 50 days of PO award. The contractor upon delivery will not need to install, interface, and/or test the unit. The contractor does not need their own equipment, personnel, warranties, and/or supervision. The contractor will need to report delivery to CMCVAMC s Logistics and Biomedical units. The CMCVAMC Biomedical team will be responsible for the inspection and deployment of the unit to the dermatology unit. In addition, they will be responsible for the preventive maintenance and subsequent troubleshooting and/or repair of the unit. The contractor is not required to adhere to any HAZMAT, OSHA, or federal safety policies or requirements. The unit is FDA approved.
