- SOURCES SOUGHT - CORROSION CONTROL, REPAIR, MAINTENANCE, PAINTING AND UNDERCOATING SERVICE - FA448621QC002 Description: The 765 ABS/CONF/PKA is conducting market research to determine potential sources located in Terceira Island, AZORES, PORTUGAL, that are capable of providing corrosion control, repair, maintenance, painting and undercoating service of vehicles consolidated at Lajes Air Field Base, Terceira Island, AZORES, PORTUGAL. The Contractor shall furnish all parts, labor, tools, materials, equipment, supervision, facilities and transportation necessary to accomplish corrosion control, repair, painting and frame undercoating of vehicles.� Corrosion control, repair, and painting consists of, but not limited to, repairing damaged metal or other materials due to corrosion, treating bare metal, priming/sealing and painting the entire vehicle.� Upon completion, each vehicle's finish and appearance shall be free of deficiencies and of a quality that meets safe, serviceability, and appearance standards as outlined in T.O. 36-1-191.The North American Standard Industry Classification System (NAICS) code anticipated for this acquisition is 811121 Automotive Body, paint and Interior Repair and Maintenance and the Product Service Code J023 Maint/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment-Ground Effect Vehicles, Motor Vehicles, Trailers, And Cycles. This Sources Sought Notice serves as a market research tool and is being used for planning purposes to determine availability of sources prior to determining the method of acquisition. No award will be made from this Sources Sought. Per the Agreement on Cooperation and Defense between the United States of America and Portugal Technical Agreement, Article VIII Procurement on the Local Market, when procuring services, Portuguese sources are to be used whenever feasible. General Information: This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. The Government is seeking industry�s input to determine the availability of qualified sources with the technical capability to fulfill the requirement described above. No contract awards will be made from this notice and no solicitation is available on beta.SAM.gov at this time. In order to develop a sound acquisition strategy, early industry participation is highly encouraged; however, participation in this effort is strictly voluntary. All costs associated with responding to this Sources Sought will be solely at the interested party�s expense. The Government will not reimburse costs and will not be liable for any costs associated with responses to this procurement notice. Respondents will not be notified of the responses to this notice. Responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
