- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division (CENWD), to include the following districts:� Omaha District (CENWO), Kanas City District (CENWK), Seattle District (CENWS), Portland District (CENWP), and Walla Walla District (CENWW) is once again conducting a free VIRTUAL seminar for NEW small business owners and/or representatives on Tuesday, 22 June 2021, from 0:930 AM to 12:00 PM (PST).� The event topics are covered below.� The event will be hosted by the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and conducted via ZOOM, an online video conferencing platform.� Note, participants might need to add Zoom onto their phones or electronic devices to join the call, but the applications and downloads are free and you do not have to have an account.� ALL SMALL BUSINESS INTERESTED PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER VIA FORMSITE (REGISTRATION LINK PROVIDED BELOW) IN ORDER TO RECEIVE EMAIL INFORMATION FOR WEBINAR ACCESS.� Anticipated Topics to be covered: Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Introduction How to do business with Federal Government New Small Business Regulations U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Division Presentation Mission How Small Business can support USACE Mission Regional Tools U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District Presentation: Mission and Programs What we buy Forecast/Contracting Opportunities FY2021/22 Questions and Answer session (held at the end of presentations) The Northwestern Division provides engineering services and stewardship of existing water resource infrastructure, conducts water resources development, military construction, environmental protection and restoration, and emergency response operations within our assigned areas of operations to serve the Army and the Nation. On order, the Northwestern Division provides Field Force Engineering services to deployed forces or other USACE elements. The Omaha District (W9128F) provides quality service as the Federal Engineer for the district, which spans all or part of 10 states, covering 700,000 square miles.� The District strive to be viewed as the preferred Federal source for investigation, engineering and construction services in the areas of water resources, design, construction, and environmental restoration�to maintain our expertise and readiness to serve the Nation during national and natural emergencies.� The District has diverse capabilities, a breadth of experience, a wealth of expertise, and a large contingent of highly qualified contractors on board to accomplish our work.� The Omaha District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, can provide a wide range of talent, skills, and service, including engineering, operations, construction, planning, contracting, and real estate.� The Omaha District is responsible for the execution of three major missions:� Federal civil works activities� including administration of the Clean Water Act Section 404 regulatory program in the upper Missouri River basin.� Engineering design and construction for the Army and Air Force in eight Mountain and Upper Midwest states.� Hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste cleanup: Restoring the environment for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Defense at sites throughout the United States. The Kansas City District (W912DQ) was established in 1907. Its missions include Civil Works, Military Construction, Regulatory, and the cleanup of Hazardous, Toxic and Radiation waste.� Its Civil Works boundaries take in parts of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Colorado.� We manage 500 miles of the Missouri River, 18 lakes, and 2 hydropower facilities.� Its Military Construction boundaries encompass the states of Missouri and Kansas.� We serve 7 military installations with construction services.� We also are responsible for the U.S. Army Reserve Design Program in 10 states stretching northward from Missouri.� Its the primary design district in 7 states and the secondary design district in 8 states for the Hazardous, Toxic, and Radiological Waste cleanup program, and it is responsible for Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials Disposal (non-fissionable materials) for the entire United States.� In the event of natural or manmade catastrophe, the Kansas City District provides emergency response and recovery to Kansas and Missouri under Public Law and the Nation under the National Response Framework. The Seattle District (W912DW) provides military and civil public works services as well as support for other agencies.� The District oversees more than 10,000 acres of public land and water; its civil works boundaries encompass 99,000 sq. miles and contain 4,700 miles of shoreline; and plays a key role in environmental protection and improvement-from protecting wetlands to ecological restoration and cleaning up hazardous and toxic waste pollution.� The District's military mission includes designing and building projects for the Army (Active and Reserves) and Air Force.� The District also provides technical services to other armed forces upon request.� The District operates the Chief Joseph Dam in Bridgeport, WA; the Albeni Falls Dam in Oldtown, ID; the Libby Dam in Libby, MT; and the Hiram Chittenden (Ballard) Locks in Seattle, WA. The Portland District (W9127N) has one of the nation's most comprehensive and diversified civil works programs.� Covering most of Oregon and southwestern Washington, the District operates locks and dams along the Columbia River, operates dams in the Willamette Valley for flood risk management, maintains Oregon's coastal rivers for navigation and leads the Nation in hydropower generation, all while ensuring equal attention to environmental protection and restoration, fish and wildlife enhancement and recreation. The Walla Walla District (W912EF) is a full-service, civil works organization, accountable and responsible to the Northwestern Division for the efficient execution of its assigned programs. A full range of civil functions is provided to our customers, and the District is prepared to accept the challenges of any additional program in times of war, peace, natural disaster, or national emergency.� Included in the Walla Walla District mission are the functions of planning, engineering, and constructing water resources projects, real estate, regulatory functions, operation and maintenance of projects for navigation, flood control, hydroelectric power generation, recreation and natural resources management, environmental statutes, and vital administrative activities.� As the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers interacts with the region, the Walla Walla District maintains and promotes the public image of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a prudent, efficient, and environmentally conscientious planner, builder, and manager of water resources projects.
