- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source fixed-priced purchase order contract to AB SCIEX LLC to purchase the maintenance of two MDQ capillary electrophoresis instruments. The main objective of the anticipated contract is to service and maintain the operational readiness of a critical laboratory instrument. The instrument participates in standard laboratory operations as well as public health emergencies and requires regular maintenance and parts for consistent operation. The P/ACE MDQ Plus Capillary Electrophoresis System from AB SCIEX is a fully programmable and automated quantitative system for the separation of charged and polar analytes in a mixture. Innovative system design ensures dependable operation and durability. This system is being used for a quick QC analysis of all synthetic DNA molecules manufactured at the core facility utilized for outbreaks, kits and regular use. Original equipment warranty information states that the manufacturer does not ensure performance at original levels if genuine manufacturer parts or manufacturer trained technicians do not provide service. Machines can only be maintained by the original manufacture, with original parts, and no other known potential vendors have been identified to fulfill specified requirements. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation /response should be emailed to the Contracting Specialist, Willie Moss, at lsf7@cdc.gov (CTR) by 4:00PM EDT on 06-11-2021. No telephonic quotes shall be considered.
