FBO ANNOUNCEMENT: PRESOLICITATION NOTICE, NOTICE OF INTENT ACTION CODE: SPECIAL NOTICE CLASSIFICATION CODE: 66 � Instruments and Laboratory Equipment SUBJECT: Mass Spectrometer System SOLICITATION NUMBER: NB645040-21-01068 DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Bruker Scientific, LLC., located in Billerica, Massachusetts for a Mass Spectrometer System. Sole Source Justification is based on the following: The National Institute of Standards & Technology�s Mass Spectrometry Data Center (MSDC), is responsible for the development of the NIST/NIH/EPA Mass Spectral Library as well as the Tandem Mass Spectral Library. To continue its mission, MSDC requires a mass spectrometer system, capable of generating thousands of high quality tandem mass spectra per analysis of ions generated by data-dependent acquisition, along with each of their ion mobility cross-sections for ions generated by electrospray and atmospheric pressure ionization after liquid chromatography separation for a very wide range of ion classes and fragmentation modes.
