- Sole Source Award Notice: University of Georgia There is a need at Food Drug Administration (FDA) to gather data on L. monocytogenes in the tree-fruit production continuum, from orchards to post-harvest packing facilities in Georgia, as well as Salmonella in related watersheds in Georgia and Pennsylvania. Previous work in orchards within Pennsylvania shed light on L. monocytogenes movement within apple orchards and packing facilities. To build on this, examining stone fruit orchards in Georgia is needed.� Related to this, there is a need to survey Salmonella populations within Pennsylvania and Georgia watersheds.� Since the total population present needs to be elucidated the use of CRISPR-SeroSeq is required to accomplish the exploration of total diversity within the examined watersheds.� A notice of intent is issued a sole source to�University of Georgia with authority of the FAR Part�12.603 (c)(2)(i), this is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. and If there are no responses have received in response to the posting. Therefore, it was determined that no other sources are capable and willing to provide prevalence and seasonal dynamics of bacterial foodborne pathogens to the Division of Microbiology, Office of Regulatory Science, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Estimated Value: $179,856.00 for a base year. In accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b), the Contracting Officer may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. For the reasons stated above, University of Georgia is the only source considered in this procurement.
