- Description
- This is a pre-solicitation notice. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Sugar Cane Research Center in Schriever, LA., has a requirement to: 1) Provide all labor, materials, mechanical knowledge, and equipment required to completely install and make acceptably functional an exhaust system for a newly purchased ICP Spectrometer. Duct system should include an inline fan of sufficient velocity to meet attached specifications of equipment manufacturer and all additional Gov�t requirements for safety and operation. All duct material should be stainless steel and vent to building exterior. Inline fan should be resistant to corrosive material and withstand temperatures of 80? C (180? F). 2) Upgrade existing fume hood with stainless steel ducts and replace existing fan to be compatible with routine use of corrosive materials [(nitric acid (70%) and hydrogen peroxide (30%)]. � 3) Remove ceiling as required to access duct work and remove old/replace new duct work.� Repair ceiling as required to original condition after all replacement is finished. Installation will include, but is not limited to: � Removal and disposal of all old ductwork and all related mechanical/electrical connections to back to original source. See Gov�t representative and review all demolition prior to starting. Turn over any items Gov�t requests to keep for reuse. Installation of all new stainless steel or other types of ducts (ductwork) for both existing hood and new instrument ventilation system. All electrical connections for hood ventilation fan and new inline fan in instrument ventilation system. Clean up of all construction waste and work areas daily. Leave all areas in a safe working environment and perform all work according to all OSHA requirements for worker safety at a USDA federal facility. Provide 3 copies all equipment manuals and submittal documentation. USDA ARS SEA intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a firm fixed priced contract.� The solicitation is anticipated to be a Total Small Business Set-Aside.� The NAICS code for this requirement is 238220 with a size standard of $16.5M.� Contractors shall not directly contact the�facility to discuss this requirement.� During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government anticipates issuing an RFP for this requirement on or about June 16, 2021 and site visit information will be included at that time.� This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for these services.
